At Kyiv Airport, border guards detain German national wanted by Interpol

Ukrainian border guards have apprehended at the Kyiv Airport a German citizen in line with Interpol’s Red Notice implying provisional arrest pending extradition.

That’s according to the press office of the Separate Checkpoint Kyiv of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, Ukrinform reports

A foreign national aiming to board an outbound flight to Tbilisi, Georgia, turned out to be wanted by German law enforcement, according to the report. The male suspect, born in 1997, was on the international wanted list, with the arrest warrant issued in his name for further extradition to and prosecution in Germany for committing fraud, a crime under Section 263 of the German Criminal Code," the statement reads.

The detainee was handed over to the relevant law enforcement agency for proceeding with the arrest and extradition protocol.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, a citizen of Uzbekistan, 26, who had been on the international wanted list, was recently extradited from Ukraine.
