Sixteen people killed and 28 wounded in Kyiv region, Brovary district suffers highest number of casualties from Russian attack
In the Kyiv region, 16 people were killed, and another 28 were injured as a result of a nighttime Russian attack.
According to Ukrinform, this information was reported by the Prosecutor General's Office.
According to the investigation, on the night of August 5, the enemy carried out a combined attack using combat drones and missiles against Kyiv, as well as settlements in the Brovary, Bucha, and Fastiv districts of the Kyiv region.
The highest number of casualties was recorded in the Brovary district.
In the village of Kvitneve, eight people were killed, and three others were injured as a result of an attack on the railway station. Private residential buildings were also damaged.
In the village of Peremoha, two people were killed, and eight others were injured as a result of a missile strike on a company’s warehouse facilities.
In Brovary, one person was injured due to a missile strike on a warehouse. In addition, large-scale fires broke out.
In the Bucha district, five people were killed, and 13 others were injured as a result of missile strikes on warehouse complexes.
In the Fastiv district, one person was killed, and three others were injured as a result of a missile strike on a logistics center.
In Kyiv, as of 8:00 a.m., a 60-year-old woman was reported killed in the Obolon district. Another 16 people were injured, including an emergency medical services driver.
The injured were diagnosed with shrapnel wounds, contusions, and fractures; four people are in critical condition.
The aftermath of the enemy strikes was documented in the Holosiivskyi, Desnianskyi, Obolonskyi, and Sviatoshynskyi districts of the capital. A private house, two post offices, a hypermarket, a logistics center for a supermarket chain, a gas station, and cars were damaged.
As noted by the Prosecutor General's Office, the final number of victims and the extent of the damage are being determined.
Under the procedural guidance of the Kyiv City and Kyiv Regional Prosecutor’s Offices, pre-trial investigations have been launched into allegations of war crimes related to the massive missile and drone attack by Russian forces on civilian infrastructure in Kyiv and the Kyiv region (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
As reported by Ukrinform, it was previously known that 14 people were killed and 22 were wounded during the Russian nighttime attack on the Kyiv region.
