Russian attack hits Sumy region with guided bombs, drones; one killed
Early Saturday morning, Russian invaders launched strikes using guided aerial bombs and drones on the Sumy region, killing a man.
Oleh Hryhorov, head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, reported this on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.
“This morning, the Russians attacked the Vorozhba community with drones and guided aerial bombs. A civilian man was killed on the grounds of his own home as a result of the enemy strike,” Hryhorov wrote.
According to him, information regarding other consequences of the enemy attack is being clarified.
Earlier, the Sumy Regional Prosecutor’s Office reported that on June 6, the body of a 77-year-old woman was found in the Khutir-Mykhailivska community of the Shostka district; she had died the previous day as a result of a Russian drone attack.
“On June 6, 2026, in the Khutir-Mykhailivskyi community of the Shostka district, the body of a deceased 77-year-old woman was discovered on the site of a destroyed house,” the statement reads.
It has been established that her house was attacked by an enemy drone the day before.
Prosecutors, in cooperation with other law enforcement agencies, are documenting the consequences of the attack.
As reported by Ukrinform, five civilians were injured in the Sumy region over the past 24 hours due to Russian aggression.
