Ukraine confirms naval drone reached Romania due to enemy EWs measures

While carrying out missions in the Black Sea operational zone, one of the Ukrainian Navy’s unmanned surface vessels lost control due to enemy electronic warfare (EW) measures and ended up off the coast of Romania. 

According to Ukrinform, the Ukrainian Navy’s press service reported this on Facebook.

“While carrying out missions in the Black Sea operational zone, one of the Ukrainian Navy’s unmanned surface vessels lost control due to enemy electronic warfare measures and ended up off the coast of Romania. The Ukrainian Navy provided the necessary information to the Romanian Navy to prevent civilian casualties,” the statement reads.

As reported by Ukrinform, an explosion occurred in the port of Constanta shortly after a naval drone was found. According to preliminary information from the country’s Department of Emergency Situations, no one was injured as a result of the explosion.

Navy spokesman Alexandru Turturice stated that the drone was spotted on Friday morning near the headquarters of the Romanian Maritime Rescue Agency (ARSVOM), located in the port of Constanta.
