War update: 317 frontline clashes, fiercest fighting in Pokrovsk sector
Over the past day, 317 combat engagements were recorded on the frontline, with the Pokrovsk sector remaining the hottest area of fighting.
According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook in its operational update as of 08:00 on May 28.
The enemy launched 68 airstrikes, dropping 202 guided aerial bombs. In addition, Russian forces deployed 8,359 kamikaze drones and carried out 2,714 shelling attacks, including 45 using multiple launch rocket systems.
Ukraine’s Air Force, missile troops, and artillery struck seven clusters of Russian personnel.
In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, Russian forces carried out one airstrike using a guided bomb and conducted 69 shelling attacks, four of them with MLRS systems. Four enemy assault actions were recorded.
In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, the enemy launched 11 attacks near Starytsia, Vovchansk, Prylipka, and toward Izbytske and Ternova.
In the Kupiansk sector, Ukraine’s Defense Forces repelled nine Russian attempts to advance toward Kivsharivka and Nova Kruhliakivka, as well as near Novoiehorivka, Holubivka, and Pishchane.
In the Lyman sector, Russian invaders attempted 11 times to break through Ukrainian defenses toward Lyman, Drobysheve, Torske, Yampil, and near Kolodiazi, Stavky, and Shandryholove.
In the Sloviansk sector, the enemy launched eight assaults toward Zakitne, Kalenyky, and Rai-Oleksandrivka.
In the Kramatorsk sector, Russian troops carried out three offensive actions near Fedorivka Druha and Minkivka.
In the Kostiantynivka sector, the enemy conducted 15 attacks near Kostiantynivka, Pleshchiivka, Stepanivka, Illinivka, and Rusyn Yar.
In the Pokrovsk sector, Ukraine’s Defense Forces stopped 66 assault actions by Russian troops near Novooleksandrivka, Rodynske, Hryshyne, Zatyshok, Muravka, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske, and toward Kucheriv Yar, Vilne, Serhiivka, Bilytske, Shevchenko, Myrne, and Novopavlivka.
In the Oleksandrivka sector, the enemy attacked once near Zlahoda.
In the Huliaipole sector, Russian invaders carried out 35 attacks near Rybne, Dobropillia, Pryluky, Zaliznychne, and toward Nove Zaporizhzhia, Huliaipilske, Olenokostiantynivka, Staroukrainka, Pryvillia, Vozdvyzhivka, Sviatopetrivka, Hirke, Tsvitkove, and Charivne.
In the Orikhiv sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled nine Russian attempts to advance near Stepnohirsk, Shcherbaky, Plavni, Mali Shcherbaky, and Mala Tokmachka.
In the Prydniprovske sector, the enemy did not conduct active offensive operations.
No signs of Russian offensive group formations were detected in the Volyn and Polissia sectors.
As reported by Ukrinform, Russia’s total combat losses since the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, through May 28, 2026, amount to approximately 1,360,110 personnel.
