Russian attack damages Ukrposhta branch in Dnipro
During the night of May 18, the Russian army attacked a Ukrposhta branch located at 28 Budivelnykiv Street in Dnipro, causing significant damage to the building.
According to Ukrinform, the company's CEO Ihor Smilianskyi reported this on Facebook.
"Last night, as a result of an enemy attack in Dnipro, Ukrposhta branch No. 49089 at 28 Budivelnykiv Street suffered significant damage. In order for clients to receive their payments and parcels without delays, the company quickly reorganized its services," the statement said.
According to Smilianskyi, starting May 19, all payments and parcel pickup services will be carried out at branch No. 49055, located about one kilometer from the damaged office.
"All shipments from branch No. 49089 have already been transferred to the new service point. At present, the team is completing checks on their condition. According to preliminary information, the vast majority of shipments are in normal condition," he added.
Parcel pickup at branch No. 49055 will begin on May 19 at 08:00.
"If certain shipments were damaged or lost as a result of the attack, Ukrposhta will promptly compensate their value. After the inspection is completed, the company itself will contact customers whose shipments were affected and will send SMS messages with a link to a form for submitting payment details for compensation," he emphasized.
The company's CEO added that an assessment of the branch's structural damage is ongoing, and if the building has not suffered critical structural damage, Ukrposhta expects to restore branch No. 49089 within a month.
"Despite all the challenges, we continue to ensure uninterrupted service for our customers," Smilianskyi stressed.
As Ukrinform previously reported, an administrative building of the tax service in one of Dnipro's districts was also damaged during the Russian attack on the night of May 18.
