Russians shell settlements in Donetsk region 12 times; one person killed

A man was killed in the Donetsk region on May 16 as a result of Russian shelling. In total, Russians shelled settlements in the region 12 times over the past 24 hours.

According to Ukrinform, Vadym Filashkin, head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, reported this on Telegram.

According to him, on May 16, Russians killed one resident of Malotaranivka in the Donetsk region.

In total, since the start of the full-scale invasion, 4,068 residents of the region have been killed and 9,428 wounded as a result of shelling by the Russian army. The total number of casualties does not include Mariupol and Volnovakha.

“Over the past 24 hours, the Russians shelled settlements in the Donetsk region 12 times. A total of 234 people, including 44 children, were evacuated from the front line,” Filashkin reported.

He noted that a high-rise building in Dobropillia, Porovsk district, was damaged by shelling. In Mykolaivka, Kramatorsk district, a high-rise building and a car were damaged; in Sloviansk, a private home and a business were damaged; in Kramatorsk, a high-rise building and three retail outlets were damaged; in Druzhkivka, an industrial zone was shelled; and in Malotaranivka, one person was killed.

In Riznykivka, Bakhmut district, a private home was damaged.

As reported by Ukrinform, on May 15, Russian troops in the Donetsk region killed a resident, and four other civilians were wounded.
