Death toll in Russia’s attack on Kyiv rises to nine
As of 18:00, nine people were known to have been killed in Kyiv as a result of Russia’s massive attack on May 14, including a 13-year-old child.
This was reported on Telegram by Head of the Kyiv City Military Administration Tymur Tkachenko, according to Ukrinform.
“Rescuers have recovered another body from under the rubble. As of now, the number of people killed by Russia has risen to nine. My condolences to the families and loved ones,” he wrote.
As noted by Ukrainian Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko on Telegram, search and rescue operations are continuing in Kyiv’s Darnytskyi district at the site of a residential building destroyed by the attack. More than 200 rescuers and pieces of heavy equipment have been deployed.
According to her, 45 people were injured, and 28 residents of the apartment building have already been pulled from the rubble.
“The search for another 20 people is ongoing,” she added.
Svyrydenko expressed condolences to the families of the victims and thanked rescuers and all services working at the site since the night of the attack.
As previously reported, Kyiv declared May 15 a day of mourning for those killed in the massive Russian combined attack on May 14.
