Zelensky holds meeting on countering Russian aerial bombs
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky held a meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's Staff, during which measures to counter Russian aerial bombs were discussed.
The head of state announced this in a video address, Ukrinform reports.
"I held a Staff meeting, and the main issue at this Staff meeting was Russian aerial bombs and our protection against them. This is a comprehensive issue – countering Russian aviation, meaning our long-range activity, as well as other methods of protection. We are also working to ensure that we have our Ukrainian analogues of such weapons," Zelensky said.
According to him, experts have gathered all available technological solutions and requests. The next Staff meeting has been tasked with determining what can and should be scaled up to strengthen protection against Russian aerial bombs and enable Ukraine to respond to this threat in a symmetrical manner.
Zelensky stressed that Ukraine's technological development will not stop and that the country has the necessary capabilities.
In March 2026, Russian forces significantly increased their use of guided aerial bombs, launching 7,987 bombs, which is more than 1,500 higher than in February.
