Oil refinery on fire following drone attack in Tuapse
A large-scale fire broke out in the tank farm of an oil refinery in the city of Tuapse, Krasnodar Krai, Russia, as a result of a nighttime drone strike.
According to Ukrinform, the Telegram channel ASTRA stated this in a post.
On the night of April 20, residents of Tuapse reported an attack on the seaport. The governor of Krasnodar Krai, Veniamin Kondratyev, confirmed the attack and the fire at the port. According to him, one person was killed and another was injured. Footage from eyewitnesses analyzed by ASTRA shows that at least 4–5 fuel storage tanks caught fire.
The Tuapse Oil Refinery is an enterprise in Krasnodar Krai operated by RN-Tuapse Refinery LLC. The plant is part of the structure of the oil company Rosneft and forms a production complex together with the company's marine terminal for petroleum products supply — RN-Marine Terminal Tuapse LLC.
As Ukrinform reported, the Tuapse refinery had already been targeted by drone attacks on April 16, and the strike was confirmed by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
