Enemy strike hits area near freight train locomotive in Dnipropetrovsk region
In the Dnipropetrovsk region, during a morning air threat, railway workers stopped a commuter train in time and evacuated the passengers, after which an enemy strike occurred near a freight locomotive.
According to Ukrinform, JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia” reported this on Facebook.
It is noted that the monitoring center detected the air threat in time and promptly relayed the information to the locomotive crews of the commuter and freight trains that were operating in the potential danger zone.
“The commuter train was stopped at the nearest station, after which the evacuation of all passengers was organized. The freight train crew also left the locomotive cab in time. After that, the enemy struck near the freight train’s locomotive,” the statement reads.
Thanks to the coordinated actions of the railway workers, casualties and injuries were avoided. After the air raid alert was lifted, passengers returned to the train, and it continued on its route.
As reported, since the start of the full-scale invasion, railway facilities have come under nearly 5,000 Russian attacks, with the enemy changing tactics and increasingly targeting passenger trains even while they are in motion. Consequently, the company has clarified the rules for passenger evacuation.
