Russian forces intensifying offensive in Sumy region – Tregubov

Russian forces have intensified offensive operations and are attempting to expand their zones of control near the border, advancing over short distances.

This was stated on television by Viktor Tregubov, spokesperson for Ukraine’s Joint Forces Grouping, Ukrinform reports.

“In the Sumy region, the Russians have noticeably become more active, at least in our sector, both in Hrabovske and to the north of it. There is also another salient there,” the spokesperson said.

According to him, the enemy is “quite actively” trying to advance in the Sumy direction and expand its areas of control.

“We are talking about small distances of 1 to 1.5 km from the border, but it is still unpleasant,” Tregubov added.
