Kherson RMA: Russian forces intensify use of fiber-optic drones

Russian forces have intensified their drone attacks in the Kherson region, notably increasing the use of drones on fiber-optic cables.

This was reported on Telegram by Alexander Prokudin, head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, according to Ukrinform.

It is noted that while the occupiers used over 5,200 UAVs throughout January 2025, they used approximately 4,400 in just the past week.

“This is due to the increased use of fiber-optic-controlled drones. Their share already ranges from 10 to 50%, depending on the area of operation,” Prokudin noted.
