Colonel Ruslan Maryshev, commander of the 95th Polissia Separate Airborne Assault Brigade, considers it unacceptable to cede territory in the Donetsk region to Russia in exchange for a freeze on the front line.

Maryshev made these remarks in an interview with Ukrinform.

“I have a negative view of this [the proposal, made in the context of the negotiation process, that Donetsk Oblast should be handed over to the enemy in exchange for a freeze on the front line]. This is unacceptable. It doesn’t matter what piece of land we give up if my servicemen and the Armed Forces of Ukraine have shed blood for it,” said Maryshev.

According to him, the 95th Brigade is “ready for anything and even more, without being limited by territory.” If it becomes necessary to destroy the enemy, it will do so on various fronts.

“Currently, my brigade is very well equipped with the latest weapons and unmanned systems. This enables us to conduct combat operations effectively,” the commander added.

As reported by Ukrinform, President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that the negotiations do not involve exchanging small territories on the borders of certain regions for the entire territory of Donbas.
