Iran launches missile strike on central Israel
Three sites in central Israel were hit during the latest attack involving ballistic missiles launched from Iran.
According to The Times of Israel, as reported by Ukrinform, rescue service officials said that fragments of missiles that fell in central Israel after the latest ballistic missile attack from Iran sparked fires.
No casualties have been reported so far from the attack, which was the fifth since midnight.
Meanwhile, the Israel Defense Forces said they had eliminated members of the Iranian paramilitary formation Basij who were operating checkpoints in Tehran.
Overnight, Israeli Air Force jets struck several checkpoints set up by Basij members in the Iranian capital, killing several militants from the paramilitary group.
A similar wave of drone strikes occurred on Wednesday evening.
As previously reported, on February 28, the United States and Israel carried out joint strikes on facilities belonging to the Iranian regime. Following that, Iran attacked U.S. bases in Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain and Jordan.
The Israeli military also deployed additional forces in southern Lebanon overnight to take positions aimed at protecting Israeli civilians and strategic sites from potential attacks by Hezbollah.
