Lubinets: 688 children killed and 2,392 wounded in Ukraine during full-scale war

Since the start of the full-scale Russian invasion, 688 children have been killed and 2,392 wounded in Ukraine, with at least 23 cases of sexual assault recorded.

According to Ukrinform, Dmytro Lubinets, the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights, reported this on Telegram following an interactive dialogue with the UN Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Children and Armed Conflict Vanessa Frazier.

"I will be blunt: since 2014, Russia has been killing, maiming, and deporting Ukrainian children. Since the start of the full-scale invasion, 688 children have been killed, 2,392 wounded, and at least 23 cases of sexual assaults have been recorded. 4,505 educational institutions and 2,551 medical facilities have been damaged or destroyed," the ombudsman emphasized.

And there is another fact that the world has no right to ignore, Lubinets noted: There are hundreds of places where Russia is deporting Ukrainian children, where they are subjected to ideological re-education and militarization. This is direct evidence of war crimes and crimes against humanity.

The Ukrainian Parliament commissioner called for concrete action: To facilitate the return of deported children, to obtain information from Russia about their whereabouts, and to bring those responsible to justice.

According to Lubinets, Russia's actions should be recognized as genocide against the Ukrainian people. This will be proof that the world is ready to call things by their proper names.

As reported by Ukrinform, an international conference on the return of abducted Ukrainian children will be held in Canada in the fall.
