One dead and seven injured: Invaders carry out more than 100 shellings in Sumy region
In the Sumy region, as a result of Russian shelling over the past day, one civilian was killed, and seven were injured.
According to Ukrinform, the Sumy Regional Military Administration reported this on Telegram.
“In the Stepanivka community, a 24-year-old man was killed, and a 22-year-old man was wounded as a result of an enemy UAV strike on a civilian car,” the report said.
In addition, a 47-year-old man was wounded in the Hlukhiv community as a result of a drone strike on a civilian vehicle, and men aged 72, 43, and 38 were injured in the Richky community due to enemy drone attacks on civilian cars.
Two people were also wounded in the Velyka Pysarivka community due to an enemy drone strike.
During the day, from the morning of March 7 to the morning of March 8, 2026, Russian troops carried out more than 100 shellings of 36 settlements in 18 territorial communities of the Sumy region.
The most shelling was recorded in the Sumy and Shostka districts. The enemy used mortars, artillery, FPV drones, UAVs, and guided aerial bombs.
Private residential buildings, a high-rise building, passenger and freight vehicles, a store, a cultural center, civilian infrastructure facilities, etc., were damaged and destroyed.
As reported by Ukrinform, on the morning of March 7, Russian drones attacked civilian cars in the Sumy region, killing one man and injuring two others.
