Russians try to completely capture Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad, military says
Russian troops are attempting to completely capture Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad in the Donetsk region.
According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the “East” military group on Facebook.
Units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces in the area of responsibility of the “East” military group are holding back the enemy's advance.
In the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian defenders stopped 21 assaults by Russian troops in the areas of the settlements of Rodynske, Kotlyne, Novomykolaivka, Udachne, Filiia, and in the direction of the settlements of Bilytske, Novooleksandrivka, and Novopavlivka.
According to preliminary estimates, during the day in the Pokrovsk-Myrnohrad agglomeration, the Defense Forces eliminated 63 Russian invaders and wounded another 23.
In addition, one artillery system and four pieces of special equipment were destroyed, three tanks, two artillery systems, one motor vehicle, an electronic warfare system, and 58 Russian shelters were damaged. A total of 192 UAVs of various types were also destroyed or neutralized.
According to the military, the enemy is focusing its efforts on attempts to advance in the area of the village of Hryshyne, trying to break through to its central part, while simultaneously storming the village from the north and south.
“The Russians are also trying to completely take control of Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad. Units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces are holding certain positions on the northern outskirts of these settlements,” the military emphasized.
The defense forces are countering the enemy's intentions and repelling enemy assaults. In particular, enhanced aerial reconnaissance, additional mining of likely routes of advance, and blocking of enemy logistics are being carried out, and search and strike operations are being conducted systematically.
According to the military, “our drone units, artillery, and aviation are actively working. Our soldiers are inflicting significant losses on the enemy.”
Overall, Russian losses remain the highest in the area of responsibility of the East Operational-Tactical Group, with 347 invaders killed over the past day.
In addition, 1,539 UAVs of various types were destroyed, as well as 121 other weapons and equipment.
The military emphasized that the Defense Forces are focusing not only on eliminating enemy infantry, but also drone operators. Over the past day, 64 Russian UAV control points were hit.
As reported by Ukrinform, there were 136 combat clashes between the Ukrainian Defense Forces and Russian troops over the past day. The enemy exerted the most pressure in the Huliaipole direction.
