Russians assaulting Hryshyne in Donetsk region as fighting raging in village – military
Fighting is ongoing in the eastern part of Hryshyne, Donetsk region, as Russian forces are attempting to advance toward the central areas of the village.
According to Ukrinform, the 7th Rapid Response Corps of the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine published an operational update on the situation in the Pokrovsk agglomeration as of March 4, along with combat footage, on Facebook.
“In the area of responsibility of the 7th Rapid Response Corps of the Air Assault Forces, signs of enemy preparations to intensify combat operations are being observed. According to available information, the enemy plans to step up its offensive at the beginning of spring. Over the past several months, the enemy has deliberately accumulated resources for future use,” the military said.
The corps reported that Russian forces have concentrated their main efforts on advancing toward Hryshyne, located northwest of Pokrovsk. Fighting continues in the eastern part of the settlement.
Russian troops are trying to pressure Ukrainian defenders and push further into central Hryshyne, simultaneously assaulting the village from the north and south.
The enemy is also continuing attempts to seize full control of Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad.
However, the 7th Rapid Response Corps said that Ukrainian forces are holding designated positions on the northern outskirts of both towns.
Overall, in February, Ukrainian troops killed and wounded more than 1,000 Russian invaders. They also destroyed or damaged 38 artillery pieces and mortars, four units of armored vehicles, 84 units of automotive and motorcycle equipment, and five ground-based robotic systems.
The video released shows air strikes carried out by Ukraine’s Defense Forces over the past several days against clusters of enemy personnel in Pokrovsk.
As previously reported by Ukrinform, 144 combat engagements between Ukraine’s Defense Forces and Russian invaders were recorded on the front line on March 3.
