Zelensky: Russians cannot launch March offensive
President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Ukraine is aware of Russia’s plans, where they intend to advance and what they aim to seize, but, according to him, the enemy lacks the forces to accomplish these tasks.
Zelensky said this while answering journalists' questions, Ukrinform's correspondent reports.
"We obtained documents – plans for 2025, 2026, and 2027, somewhat outdated for 2025. We see that they have not fulfilled their goals. We also received [plans for] 2026–2027. We understand what they want. We understand that their directions remain relevant – the occupation of the east of our state, namely the Donetsk and Luhansk regions. They certainly want to continue in the direction of the Zaporizhzhia region and also toward the Dnipro direction. It is difficult for them, but they are looking at the Odesa region. We see these directions. But these maps currently have nothing in common with reality because they cannot accomplish their tasks," Zelensky said.
According to him, the offensive operation the enemy was preparing for spring depended on achievements as of the end of 2025. However, the President stressed that the Russians failed to fulfill the task set by their command.
"Their maps do not correspond to reality – where our forces are and where their forces are. They cannot launch the March offensive exactly as they wanted," he said, noting that the Russians want to advance but do not have the forces to carry out the tasks assigned to them.
As reported, since the beginning of the day the Russian army has carried out 52 attacks on the positions of Ukrainian defenders, 23 of them in the Huliaipole direction. Fighting is ongoing in four directions.
