Russian forces attack mobile Ukrposhta branch in Sumy region, driver killed

Russian forces attacked a mobile branch of Ukraine's national postal service Ukrposhta in the Sumy region, leaving the driver with fatal injuries.

According to Ukrinform, the company's CEO Ihor Smilianskyi reported this on Telegram.

"The most terrifying messages on my phone begin with the words: 'Unfortunately, we couldn't save him.' And today I received exactly such a message," he wrote.

According to Smilianskyi, the attack on the mobile post office in the Sumy region claimed the life of the postal service's driver, Viacheslav Urchyk, leaving his wife and three-year-old daughter without a husband and father.

He added that doctors fought for his life throughout the night, but the injuries proved fatal.

"Although attacks have become more frequent, our heroic employees do not leave their customers without assistance, medicines, food, and now even charging stations. And sometimes this work comes at a very high price," Smilianskyi said.

Since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion, as of February 13, 45 employees of Ukrposhta have been killed and 47 of the postal operator's branches have been destroyed.
