Russian shelling of Sumy region leaves four killed over past day
In Sumy region, four people were killed and another four were injured as a result of attacks by the occupying forces. In total, the enemy carried out more than 100 strikes on 30 settlements across 16 communities in the region.
The head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, Oleh Hryhorov, sttaed this on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.
"Yampil community – women aged 72 and 67 were killed. According to updated information, yesterday during the clearing of the rubble, rescuers recovered fragments of the body of one of the deceased. Work to retrieve the bodies and clear the destroyed structures is ongoing. A 60-year-old woman was also injured; Vorozhba community – two men aged 31 and 21 were killed; men aged 47 and 52 were injured (drone strikes on cars); Sumy community – a 63-year-old man was injured and received medical assistance without hospitalization (UAV strike)," the statement said.
It is noted that in the Sumy community, an educational institution, private houses, an outbuilding, cars, and infrastructure facilities were damaged. In the Yampil community, an administrative building was destroyed and private houses were damaged. In the Vorozhba community, passenger cars were damaged. In the Khutir-Mykhailivskyi community, a non-residential building, agricultural machinery, and an infrastructure facility were damaged. In the Seredyna-Buda and Znob-Novhorodske communities, infrastructure facilities and private houses were damaged. In the Hlukhiv community, a non-residential building was damaged, and in the Stepanivka community, a private car was damaged. Twenty-eight people were evacuated from frontline communities in the Sumy region.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, a Russian drone attacked a civilian car in the Sumy region, resulting in deaths and injuries.
