Russia carries out missile strikes from Crimea overnight, with no launches from sea, Pletenchuk says
Russia used the territory of the temporarily occupied Crimea to launch ballistic weapons and hypersonic missiles during a night attack on Ukraine.
Dmytro Pletenchuk, the Ukrainian Naval Forces spokesman, reported this on a television broadcast, according to a Ukrinform correspondent.
“From the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea, the enemy launched both ballistic weapons and hypersonic missiles. This once again confirms that the Russians are using Crimea as a launchpad for strikes against Ukraine,” Pletenchuk said.
According to him, as of this morning, no enemy warships have been detected in the waters of the Black and Azov Seas. There have also been no launches from sea-based carriers.
Pletenchuk added that activity in the airspace continues, but Russian missile carriers have not been deployed at sea.
As reported by Ukrinform, an air raid alert was declared in Kyiv and several regions overnight due to the threat of ballistic missiles.
