Russian strikes on Zaporizhzhia leave five people injured, including minor

At least five people, including a child, were injured as a result of enemy strikes on Zaporizhzhia. An infrastructure facility caught fire following the attack.

The enemy carried out at least eight strikes on the city. This was reported on Telegram by Head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration Ivan Fedorov, according to Ukrinform.

“Three people, including a child, were injured. A multi-storey apartment building was damaged by the blast wave and shrapnel. These are the preliminary consequences of the enemy drone attack on Zaporizhzhia,” the statement said.

Later, Fedorov provided an update. “The enemy carried out more than six strikes on Zaporizhzhia. One of them hit the city’s infrastructure, causing a fire,” he wrote.

Meanwhile, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine also released information on the shelling, reporting that five people were injured.

“At one address, a strike hit an industrial building near a nine-storey residential block. Firefighters are extinguishing a blaze covering an area of 200 square meters. Nearby buildings were also damaged. At another location, a strike was recorded in an open area close to residential neighborhoods. Five five-storey apartment buildings and cars parked in a courtyard sustained damage,” the Service said in a Telegram post.

As previously reported by Ukrinform, Russian forces attacked the Zaporizhzhia region over the past day, carrying out 754 strikes on 44 settlements. Two people were killed and four others were injured as a result of the attacks.
