Defense Forces control Berestok in Donetsk region and prevent enemy assault groups from gaining foothold
Ukrainian defenders are conducting search-and-strike operations to prevent the enemy from infiltrating the town of Berestok in the Donetsk region.
This was reported by Hryhorii Shapoval, spokesman for the Operation Task Force East, in a comment to Ukrinform.
"The Defense Forces currently control Berezok, but the enemy is trying to infiltrate in small groups, occupy the space between positions, or gain a foothold in buildings. At the same time, our Defense Forces are conducting search and strike operations, and the enemy is being exterminated," Shapoval said.
He recalled that an enemy assault group usually consists of about three people. As of today, it is difficult to determine how many assailants are attempting to enter Berestok.
“It is impossible to say the exact number because they are entering this settlement from three sides,” the spokesman explained.
He added that with changing weather conditions, when snow fell, it became easier for the Unmanned Systems Forces to find and eliminate the enemy.
“Despite the enemy's loud statements and alleged ‘advances’ near the village of Berestok in the Donetsk region, units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold their positions, controlling key approaches to the village and preventing the enemy from gaining a foothold,” Shapoval said.
As reported by Ukrinform, the Ukrainian Defense Forces liberated the eastern part of Hryshyne in the Donetsk region from Russian invaders.
