War update: 53 clashes on front line since morning, Huliaipole and Pokrovsk sectors remain most active
Since the beginning of the day, there have been 53 combat engagements between the Defense Forces of Ukraine and Russian troops, with the enemy showing the greatest activity in the Huliaipole and Pokrovsk sectors.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated this on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.
"Since the beginning of the day, there have been 53 combat engagements on the front," the statement said.
According to the General Staff, the enemy fired artillery from Russian territory, including at settlements in the Chernihiv region (Zarichchia, Mykhalchyna Sloboda) and in the Sumy region (Rohizne, Iskryskivshchyna, Prohres, Ryzhivka, Budky, Kucherivka).
In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, the enemy carried out 52 shellings of settlements and positions of Ukrainian units.
In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, the enemy launched four attacks near Vovchanski Khutory and toward Okhrimivka. Three clashes are ongoing.
In the Kupiansk sector, the enemy did not conduct offensive actions.
In the Lyman sector, Ukrainian troops repelled four attacks by the invaders near Zarichne and toward Stavky. Two clashes are ongoing.
In the Sloviansk sector, the aggressor attacked four times near Yampil, Zakitne, and Platonivka; one clash continues.
In the Kramatorsk sector, Russian forces attempted to advance toward Ukrainian positions near Novodmytrivka.
In the Kostiantynivka sector, the invaders conducted ten offensive actions near Pleshchiivka, Shcherbynivka, Rusyn Yar, Sofiivka, and toward Kostiantynivka, Illinivka, and Novopavlivka. Two attacks are still ongoing.
In the Pokrovsk sector, Russian forces have attempted 11 times since the start of the day to push back Ukrainian troops from their positions near Nykanorivka, Rodynske, Kotlyne, and Filiia, and toward Novyi Donbas and Novooleksandrivka. The Defense Forces have repelled eight of these attacks.
In the Oleksandrivka sector, the aggressor attacked twice near Ternove. Havrylivka and Fedorivske were hit by glide bombs.
In the Huliaipole sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled 16 attacks by the occupiers near Huliaipole, Solodke, and toward Zaliznychne and Varvarivka. Additionally, enemy aviation struck the settlements of Vozdvyzhivka, Lisne, Verkhnia Tersa, Myrne, and Charivne. Three clashes are still ongoing.
In the Orikhiv sector, the enemy did not conduct offensive actions. Veselyanka was hit by guided aerial bombs.
In the Prydniprovske sector, the Defense Forces repelled an enemy attack.
No significant changes have been recorded in other sectors at this time.
As previously reported, in the Kupiansk sector, Ukrainian troops continue to hold designated defensive lines despite Russian attempts to improve their tactical position and advance primarily on foot, using difficult weather conditions and terrain features.
