War update: 235 clashes on frontline over past day, fiercest fighting in Pokrovsk sector

Over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian Defense Forces and Russian troops were involved in 235 combat clashes, with the highest enemy activity recorded in the Pokrovsk sector.

This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook, providing operational data as of 08:00 on Monday, February 16, according to Ukrinform.

“In total, 235 combat clashes were recorded over the past day,” the statement said.

According to the General Staff, yesterday, the enemy carried out one missile strike using a single missile and 79 airstrikes, dropping 224 guided aerial bombs. In addition, 4,757 kamikaze drones were deployed and 3,387 shelling attacks targeted settlements and Ukrainian positions, including 121 with multiple-launch rocket systems (MLRS).

Russian airstrikes hit, among others, the settlements of Novoukrainka, Velykomykhailivka, Verkhnia Tersa, Huliaipilske, Zaliznychne, Dolynka, Hryhorivka, Zarichne, Yuliivka, Malynivka, Hirske, and Blakytne. Ukrainian missile and artillery forces struck one significant enemy target over the past day.

In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, six combat clashes occurred; also 143 shelling attacks were recorded, including four MLRS strikes.

In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, the enemy made four attempts to breach Ukrainian defensive lines near Veterinarne, Vovchanski Khutory, and Okhrimivka.

In the Kupiansk sector, there was one clash near Pishchane.

In the Lyman sector, the Russians carried out six attacks trying to break through near Stavky, Drobysheve, Druzheliubivka, and Lyman.

In the Sloviansk sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled eight enemy advances near Yampil, Zakitne, Kryva Luka, Rai-Oleksandrivka, and Dronivka.

In the Kramatorsk sector, no enemy offensive actions recorded.

In the Kostiantynivka sector, 28 attacks were recorded near Kostiantynivka, Pleshchiivka, Shcherbynivka, Ivanopillia, Illinivka, Rusyn Yar, Mykolaipillia, Novopavlivka, Stepanivka, and Sofiivka.

In the Pokrovsk sector, 63 assaults were repelled near Toretske, Kucheriv Yar, Bilytske, Zatyshok, Rodynske, Shevchenko, Novooleksandrivka, Pokrovsk, Udachne, Kotlyne, Molodetske, Novopidhorodnie, Novopavlivka, Novomykolaivka, Filiia, Dachne, and Serhiivka.

In the Oleksandrivka sector, 21 clashes occurred near Zelenyi Hai, Ivanivka, Oleksandrohrad, Yehorivka, Vyshneve, Oleksiivka, Verbove, Stepove, Danylivka, Nove Zaporizhzhia, Zlahoda, and Rybne.

In the Huliaipole sector, Russian forces launched 37 attacks near Huliaipole and toward Dobropillia, Uspenivka, Varvarivka, Pryluky, Zaliznychne, Staroukrainka, Zelene, and Krynychne.

In the Orikhiv sector, the enemy carried out active advances toward Stepnohirsk, Pavlivka, Lukianivske, and Shcherbaky.

In the Prydniprovske sector, no clashes were recorded.

In the Volyn and Polissia sectors, no signs of enemy offensive groupings were detected.

As previously reported by Ukrinform, total combat losses of Russian forces since the start of the full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022, up to February 16, 2026, amount to approximately 1,254,450 personnel, including 1,180 losses over the past day.
