Group of children aged 3 months to 17 years returned from temporarily occupied territory of Kherson region
Another group of children aged 3 months to 17 years was returned from the temporarily occupied territory of the Kherson region, including two children who witnessed their mother being tortured and two others who were trapped in their home after the Russians blew up the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Station.
According to Ukrinform, Oleksandr Prokudin, the head of the Kherson Regional State Administration, reported this on Telegram.
“Another group of children and teenagers was returned to the territory controlled by Ukraine from the temporarily occupied part of the Kherson region. These are boys and a girl aged 3 months to 17 years,” the message says.
It is noted that among those rescued are a 17-year-old girl and a 9-year-old boy who survived repeated incursions by Russian troops into their home. During one of them, the children witnessed their mother being tortured.
An eight-year-old and a five-year-old boy were trapped in their own home after the Russians blew up the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Station. The water level in the house reached almost two meters. The family was left without electricity, food, or medicine. Their mother hid her sons from the occupiers so that they would not be forced to study in a Russian school and taken away from their family.
All these children and teenagers are now safe and receiving the support they need to return to a peaceful life gradually.
Their rescue took place as part of the Ukrainian President's Bring Kids Back UA initiative, and thanks to the work of the Save Ukraine team.
As reported by Ukrinform, as of December 10, 2025, Ukraine had managed to return 1,902 children from Russia and the occupied territories.
