Airstrikes intensify in southern Ukraine, Russia changes bombing strategy – military spox

The situation in the Huliaipole and Oleksandrivka sectors of the font remains difficult. Russian forces have increased the number of airstrikes, but Ukraine’s Defense Forces are holding their positions.

This was reported to Ukrinform by Vladyslav Voloshyn, Spokesperson for the Defense Forces of the South.

“The situation in the Huliaipole and Oleksandrivka sectors in southern Ukraine is quite difficult, but the Defense Forces are standing firm, holding their ground, and destroying the enemy,” Voloshyn said.

According to him, the number of airstrikes has increased significantly.

“Recently, the number of airstrikes has risen. For example, we now record 10–12 per day, and just yesterday there were 15 airstrikes,” the spokesperson said.

He clarified that the enemy has changed the way it uses glide bombs.

“Previously, the enemy carried out massive bombings with glide bombs (KABs), but now they are striking three to four KABs at a particular settlement… they are doing it more selectively,” Voloshyn added.

As previously reported by Ukrinform, Russian media claims that Staroukrainka in the Huliaipole sector had been captured are disinformation. The village remains under the control of Ukraine’s Defense Forces.
