Zelensky: Only result of Russian offensive is sharp rise in their casualties

This week, there have been reports of Russian attempts to intensify their offensives, the only tangible result of which has been an increase in Russian military casualties.

According to Ukrinform, President Volodymyr Zelensky reported this on Telegram.

The President held a meeting with Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine General Oleksandr Syrskyi and Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Lieutenant General Andrii Hnatov.

“Over the past week, we have observed Russian attempts to intensify their offensives, taking advantage of more favorable weather conditions. As a result, the only tangible outcome for the Russian army has been an increase in their casualties,” the head of state noted.

According to him, in just these seven days, there have been reports of more than 8,000 Russian soldiers killed or seriously wounded.

There is also information, Zelensky noted, that the Russian command has finally managed to figure out where their units are actually located on the front lines and how this differs from the official reports that were sent up the chain of command.

“Some of their brigade-level commanders have already been replaced as punishment for lying. However, this will not help the invaders,” the President stated.

In the Donetsk region, the positions of Ukrainian defenders have not changed significantly over the past week. In the Kharkiv region and in the border communities of the Sumy region, attempts by the invaders to advance from the border are being recorded – the destruction of Russian units attempting this continues. In the Oleksandrivka sector, active operations by Ukrainian assault and airborne units are ongoing.

At the meeting, the accuracy of Ukrainian precision strikes was specifically noted, and further plans were outlined; additionally, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief approved a number of new operations.

As reported by Ukrinform, according to Syrskyi, with the change in weather conditions, the Russian army has intensified pressure on several sections of the front simultaneously; the number of combat engagements has exceeded 200 for several days in a row.
