Russian forces shell Druzhkivka with cluster munitions, seven killed
Russian forces have shelled Druzhkivka in the Donetsk region with cluster munitions, striking a market. At least seven people were killed and eight others wounded.
Vadym Filashkin, head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, announced this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.
"It is already known that seven people have been killed and eight wounded. […] The Russians shelled the city with cluster munitions, striking directly at the market, where there is always a large concentration of people in the morning," the regional governor wrote.
He noted that the final number of victims of the attack has not yet been determined and that significant updates will be provided later.
All relevant services are working at the scene, providing assistance to the victims and dealing with the aftermath of the shelling.
According to Filashkin, the enemy also dropped two aerial bombs on Druzhkivka. An industrial area, three apartment buildings, and three private houses were damaged.
"This is yet another deliberate war crime and further proof that all Russian statements about a 'ceasefire' are worth nothing," he said, once again urging residents of the Donetsk region to evacuate to safer areas.
On February 3, Russian forces carried out 1,695 strikes on the Donetsk region, killing one person and destroying 29 civilian facilities.
