Russia attacks TPPs and TPSs used exclusively for heating in Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Dnipro, says Shmyhal

On the night of February 3, the Russian army launched strikes with several types of ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and drones on eight regions of Ukraine, targeting energy facilities, including thermal power plants and thermal power stations.

According to Ukrinform, this was reported by First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal on Telegram.

"Eight regions of Ukraine were hit! [...] Several types of ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and drones were used to strike high-rise buildings and thermal power plants — TPPs and TPSs that were operating exclusively to heat areas in Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Dnipro," Shmyhal wrote.

He stressed that the targets of the attacks were exclusively civilian; hundreds of thousands of families, including children, were deliberately left without heating in the harshest winter frosts.

“Every Russian involved in planning, supporting, and carrying out these strikes, which were carried out with the aim of mass destruction of Ukrainians, must be punished!” the government official stressed.
