War update: 135 clashes on front since morning, 51 in Pokrovsk sector
Since the beginning of the day, there have been 135 combat clashes between the Defense Forces of Ukraine and Russian troops, 51 of them in the Pokrovsk sector.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated this on Facebook, providing operational information as of 16:00 on Saturday, January 31, Ukrinform reports.
The enemy carried out artillery shelling in the areas of Rohizne, Pavlivka, Starykove, Bachivsk, Tovstodubove, and Budky in the Sumy region.
In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, the enemy made one attempt at an offensive and carried out 48 shellings of settlements and Ukrainian positions, including two with multiple-launch rocket systems.
In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, the enemy attacked 14 times in the areas of Vovchansk, Starytsia, Prylipka, and toward Hrafskе, Vilcha, and Vovchanski Khutory. Four clashes are still ongoing.
In the Kupiansk sector, the enemy is attempting to advance toward Petropavlivka, Pishchane, Novoosynove, and Novoplatonivka. In total, six clashes occurred in this sector, three of which are ongoing.
In the Lyman sector, Ukrainian forces repelled 18 attacks by the invaders in the areas of Drobysheve, Serednie, Zarichne, and toward Stavky, Novoserhiivka, and Shyikivka. Two clashes are ongoing.
In the Sloviansk sector, Russian forces attempted to advance five times on Ukrainian positions near Yampil, Dronivka, and toward Zakitne. Two clashes are ongoing.
In the Kramatorsk sector, the enemy did not carry out any offensive actions.
In the Kostiantynivka sector, the invaders carried out 29 attacks near Pleshchiivka, Shcherbynivka, Rusyn Yar, Kleban-Bik, and toward Kostiantynivka, Ivanopillia, Illinivka, Mykolaipillia, Stepanivka, Novopavlivka, and Sofiivka. Three attacks are still ongoing.
In the Pokrovsk sector, since the start of the day, Russian forces have attempted 51 times to push Ukrainian troops from their positions in the areas of Nykanorivka, Rodynske, Myrnohrad, Pokrovsk, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske, Filiia, and toward Kucheriv Yar, Bilytske, Hryshyne, Novopidhorodne, Muravka, Novopavlivka, and Ivanivka. The Defense Forces are holding the line and have already repelled 47 attacks.
In the Oleksandrivka sector, the aggressor attacked five times near Verbove and toward Oleksandrohrad, Danylivka, and Nove Zaporizhzhia. Malomykhailivka was hit by a guided aerial bomb strike.
In the Huliaipole sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled 18 attacks in the areas of Huliaipole, Myrne, and toward Dobropillia, Varvarivka, Zaliznychne, and Sviatopetrivka. Additionally, enemy aviation struck Verkhnia Tersa. Six clashes are still ongoing.
In the Orikhiv sector, the enemy attacked Ukrainian positions twice near Plavni and toward Lukianivske.
In the Prydniprovske sector, no enemy offensive actions have been recorded so far.
In other sectors, no significant changes in the situation have been reported.
As Ukrinform reported, the Defense Forces of Ukraine repelled a Russian assault in the Pokrovsk sector, destroying almost four Russian platoons in a single day.
