Rescuer dies during demining operations in Kharkiv region

In the Kharkiv region, while identifying a Russian explosive device that suddenly detonated, a rescuer from the Blyzniuky community – Captain of the Civil Protection Service, 35-year-old Ivan Sieryi – was killed.

According to Ukrinform, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine stated this on Facebook.

"The life of a person who faced danger every day for the sake of others has been cut short. A person for whom service in the State Emergency Service was not a duty but a calling for almost 14 years. Ivan was brave, dedicated, and strong in spirit. He is survived by his parents and his 10-year-old son," said Head of the State Emergency Service Andrii Danyk.
