Russia actively using infiltration tactics with assault groups on Eastern axis – CCD

On the eastern axis, Russian forces are actively attempting to infiltrate with assault groups, including by disguising themselves as civilians. At the same time, Ukraine’s Defense Forces are systematically disrupting these attempts and carrying out countermeasures.

According to Ukrinform, this was reported on Telegram by Andrii Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD) under the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.

“In addition to the large number of UAVs, the current war across all sectors of the eastern front is characterized by demonstrative attempts by the Russians to infiltrate cities with assault groups (sometimes wearing civilian clothing),” he said.

Kovalenko added that Russian troops are simultaneously trying to outflank the positions of Ukraine’s Defense Forces.

“At the same time, Russia is attempting to stretch the flanks, bypass positions, and encircle them, accompanying these actions with FABs and KABs (glide bombs), as well as strike drones,” Kovalenko noted.

At the same time, he emphasized that Ukrainian defenders are constantly countering these intentions.

“Hunting enemy assault groups is ongoing at all times. Ukraine’s Defense Forces are managing to disrupt these plans and are even carrying out certain raids,” he stressed.

As previously reported by Ukrinform, the CCD emphasized that Russia is intensifying its information operation around the situation in Ukraine’s energy sector, using bot networks, pseudo-regional channels, and humanitarian blackmail to exert political pressure on the Ukrainian authorities.
