Russians intensifying pressure, deploying reserves to Pokrovsk and Ocheretyne areas – Cinc Syrskyi
Russian forces are intensifying pressure and deploying reserves to the Pokrovsk and Ocheretyne sectors of the front.
As reported by Ukrinform, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine General Oleksandr Syrskyi wrote about this on Facebook.
He noted that he continues working in the Pokrovsk and Ocheretyne sectors, where the Russians are concentrating their main efforts.
According to Syrskyi, the operational situation in these areas is difficult. Over the past week alone, about 400 combat engagements have taken place there.
“The Russian invaders do not abandon attempts to break through, are increasing pressure, and pulling up reserves. Our key task is to inflict maximum losses on the enemy, destroy their reserves, and consistently reduce their offensive potential,” Syrskyi emphasized.
While working directly on the ground, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, together with unit commanders, is conducting a detailed analysis of the course of combat operations.
The Russians continue to use tactics involving advances by small infantry groups. As Syrskyi noted, their timely detection, containment, and destruction require constant battlefield monitoring, clear coordination between units, and flexible tactical decisions.
The general also reported that particular attention is being paid to strengthening unmanned systems units, primarily the use of strike drones to engage the enemy, as well as the development of logistics with the involvement of robotic systems.
“The war is changing – and we are changing our approaches to fighting it. Scaling up modern technologies directly affects the effectiveness of combat operations and helps save the lives of Ukrainian soldiers,” Syrskyi stressed.
He expressed gratitude to every servicemember for destroying the invaders, effective teamwork, and a high level of professionalism.
As previously reported by Ukrinform, 138 combat engagements between Ukraine’s Defense Forces and Russian invaders were recorded on the frontline over the past day, January 25. In the Pokrovsk sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled 41 assault actions by Russian forces near Shakhove, Dorozhnie, Rodynske, Myrnohrad, Pokrovsk, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske, and toward Filiia and Novopavlivka.
