Russians strike Druzhkivka with Smerch MLRS: Woman killed, three others injured

Russian forces attacked Druzhkivka in the Donetsk region, killing a woman and injuring three civilians.

Ukrinform reported this citing the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office on Telegram.

“On January 25, 2026, Russian invaders shelled Druzhkivka. A 78-year-old woman sustained fatal injuries. Three other residents, aged 47, 60, and 66, received shrapnel wounds, mine-explosive injuries, and traumatic amputation of a foot,” the statement said.

The victims were outdoors at the time and were provided with medical assistance.

The shelling also damaged multi-story residential buildings.

“The enemy used a Smerch multiple launch rocket system against civilians,” the prosecutor’s office added.

Law enforcement has opened a pre-trial investigation into the incident under the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Part 2, Article 438 – war crime).

Earlier, Ukrinform reported that two civilians were injured in the Donetsk region by Russian attacks over the past day.
