Kremlin continues to strive for maximum advance into Ukrainian territory — FISU
The Kremlin continues to aim for maximum advance into Ukrainian territory.
This was announced in an interview with Ukrinform by Oleh Luhovskyi, First Deputy Head of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine.
According to him, the Kremlin's position on the seizure of the Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions of Ukraine has not changed. In the near future, the Kremlin does not plan to revise its strategic goals in Ukraine and, accordingly, its vision for ending the war.
“The Kremlin continues to strive for maximum advance into Ukrainian territory. It is convinced of the possibility of a collapse of the front and rear,” Luhovskyi said.
According to him, Russia has no territorial restrictions and aims to advance as far as the situation allows. At the same time, the Kremlin believes that this will strengthen its negotiating position.
The first deputy head of the FISU recalled that on the eve of the New Year, Putin publicly instructed the military command, in addition to the offensive on Zaporizhzhia, to continue the offensive in the Sumy and Kharkiv regions under the pretext of expanding the “security zone.” The Kremlin expects that strikes on energy facilities in the middle of winter and superiority on the front lines will have a cumulative effect and force Ukraine to capitulate.
As reported by Ukrinform, on January 23-24, trilateral talks between delegations from Ukraine, the United States, and Russia are ongoing in Abu Dhabi.
