Zaporizhzhia becomes transit hub for Shahed drones launched from occupied territory, regional chief says
Frontline Zaporizhzhia has turned into a transit hub for enemy Shahed drones launched from the temporarily occupied territory of the region.
Ivan Fedorov, Head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, said this during a televised broadcast, Ukrinform reports.
“Zaporizhzhia is a transit center for Shahed drones launched by the enemy from the temporarily occupied territories. Over the past 24 hours, more than 30 Shahed drones have flown past Zaporizhzhia. Some of them were destroyed thanks to the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” Fedorov said.
He added that the number of attacks has increased significantly in recent times, but the enemy has failed to carry out its plans in the region.
Fedorov specified that Ukrainian defenders are shooting down a large number of aerial targets. According to the DELTA system rankings, two Zaporizhzhia units became the national leaders in destroying enemy aerial targets last month.
As reported by Ukrinform, on January 22, the enemy carried out air strikes on Komyshuvakha. One person was killed and 10 others were injured.
