On the morning of April 9, Russian forces launched several strikes on settlements in the Kushuhum community of Zaporizhzhia district, damaging residential buildings and the Prestige educational institution.

A Ukrinform correspondent reported this.

One of the shells struck the schoolyard. A massive crater formed just a few meters from the school.

“The blast wave damaged the school building. It shattered the windows and destroyed the furniture. None of the staff were injured,” said Zhanna Vynnychenko, the school’s principal, in a telephone interview.

Classes are being held in an underground school built nearby. It was not damaged. The children went to school today.

Houses in the village have been damaged.

Russian forces have been attacking the community for the third day in a row. They are firing from multiple launch rocket systems and dropping guided aerial bombs.

This was stated in an address by Volodymyr Sosunovskyi, head of the Kushuhum community.
