Military: Enemy gathering forces near Myrnohrad to cut off AFU logistics routes
Russian invaders in the Pokrovsk direction are trying to build up forces for further actions to cut off the Ukrainian military's logistics routes and infiltrate Myrnohrad.
According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the 7th Corps of the Airborne Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Telegram.
It is noted that units of the 79th separate airborne assault Tavriya Brigade of the 7th Corps of the Airborne Assault Forces continue to carry out combat missions in Myrnohrad and its surroundings.
“Understanding the enemy's tactics, our paratroopers, in cooperation with adjacent units, are conducting a series of search and strike operations in hidden locations near Myrnohrad. It is there that the enemy is trying to gather forces for further actions to cut off our logistics routes and infiltrate the city,” the military noted.
In particular, the enemy used the territory of a fish farm for such accumulation.
After analyzing radio interceptions, paratroopers of the 79th Airborne Brigade established the call sign of a Russian infantryman who was in one of the farm buildings.
To clear the building, the paratroopers decided not to conduct an open assault, but instead approached the building and introduced themselves: “Cedar, we are friends. We have come to help.”
After that, the assault troops entered the building without resistance and eliminated the Russian who was hiding there.
As reported by Ukrinform, 164 combat clashes between the Ukrainian Defense Forces and Russian invaders were recorded on the front line over the past day, January 16.
