European security guarantees for Ukraine do not include nuclear umbrella – Zelensky
Security guarantees for Ukraine from European partners and the United States do not include a nuclear umbrella.
President Volodymyr Zelensky stated this in a comment to journalists, Ukrinform reports.
"There is no talk about nuclear weapons. As for security guarantees from our European partners and from the United States of America, we are discussing a contingent, protection on land, in the air, at sea, as well as a separate track of 'air defense'," Zelensky said.
According to him, discussions also include strengthening the Ukrainian army and providing additional funding for personnel. He emphasized that the key issue remains the staffing of combat brigades and ensuring their high combat readiness.
Zelensky also noted that Ukraine is holding talks on obtaining separate licenses to develop co-production in the defense industry.
As Ukrinform reported, following a meeting in Paris, the leaders of the Coalition of the Willing, Ukraine, and the United States signed a statement titled "Robust Security Guarantees for a Solid and Lasting Peace in Ukraine."
