Air Defense Forces destroy 73 Russian drones out of 99 launched against Ukraine
Air Defense Forces destroyed 73 out of 99 drones used by Russia to attack Ukraine since the evening of December 25. A ballistic missile and 26 UCAVs were recorded as having been hit.
According to Ukrinform, the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this on its Facebook page.
On the night of December 26 (from 6 p.m. on December 25), the enemy attacked with one Iskander-M ballistic missile from the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea, as well as 99 Shahed and Gerbera UCAVs and other types of drones from the following directions: Bryansk, Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk – Russian Federation, Hvardiiske (temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea), about 60 of them were Shahed drones.
The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare, and unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
According to preliminary data, as of 09:00, Air Defense Forces shot down or jammed 73 enemy Shahed and Gerbera UAVs and other types of drones in the north, south, and east of the country.
A ballistic missile and 26 UCAVs were recorded hitting 16 locations.
As reported by Ukrinform, in Odesa, the Russians attacked an infrastructure facility with a combat drone, causing a fire.
