Consumers left without electricity due to Russian attack on energy facilities in Chernihiv
In Chernihiv and the Chernihiv district, power outages affected tens of thousands of homes as a result of a Russian strike on energy infrastructure.
The head of the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, Viacheslav Chaus, reported this on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.
It is noted that all relevant services are working at the sites of the enemy strikes in Chernihiv, with volunteers also involved. Emergency repair and restoration work is ongoing.
"There were strikes in the region. In particular, in Chernihiv, due to an attack on an energy facility, electricity was cut off for tens of thousands of consumers," he wrote.
Chernihivoblenergo reported that several critical energy facilities in the Chernihiv district were damaged as a result of Russian shelling. The company also added that, in addition to Chernihiv, consumers in a number of settlements across the Chernihiv district have been left without power.
As previously reported, on December 23 a Russian drone struck the technical floor of a nine-story residential building in Chernihiv.
