The Ministry for Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine and the Ministry of Energy are working to increase the available volumes of electricity for the Dnipropetrovsk region to match its load as a frontline region with military logistics and large-scale industry.

According to Ukrinform, the Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration and Minister for Development of Communities and Territories Oleksii Kuleba stated this on Facebook.

"Dnipropetrovsk region. We are working in the region and its communities. I met with city and village leaders and members of parliament. The focus is on the situation on the ground, the heating season, and the organization of transportation and logistics amid constant wartime threats. Another key issue is the region's energy supply," he noted.

According to him, the Dnipropetrovsk region is a strategic industrial area, and the country's economy as well as the employment of thousands of people depend on the stable operation of its enterprises.

In particular, military and humanitarian logistics routes pass through the region, ensuring the movement of people, cargo, and equipment, as well as the operation of enterprises that are important for defense.

That is why, Kuleba emphasized, the issue of the region's energy resilience is of nationwide importance.

"Together with the Ministry of Energy, we are working to increase the available volumes of electricity for the region and to balance loads in the networks. The Dnipropetrovsk region must receive volumes that correspond to its actual load as a frontline region with military logistics and large industry. The task is to ensure more predictable operation of the economy, municipal infrastructure, and social facilities of the region," he stressed.

He also noted that this directly affects how the region gets through the heating season. "Despite constant attacks on energy infrastructure, heat supply in communities is ensured, including in Kryvyi Rih," Kuleba added.

At the same time, communities are strengthening their own energy capacity. In particular, the development of cogeneration is delivering practical results for the stability of heat supply. "We inspected one such facility – a single installation provides heat to more than four thousand residents and reduces the load on power grids," he said.

Another area of work, according to the Deputy Prime Minister, is the physical protection of critical infrastructure facilities. "Together with the Agency for Restoration, we are continuing this work in the region's communities. It is being carried out under difficult conditions of constant air raid alerts and shelling, and we are accelerating the pace of implementation," he emphasized.

In addition, as Kuleba noted, the Dnipropetrovsk region remains one of the key transit regions for internally displaced persons. Therefore, supporting frontline territories for IDPs and preparing social housing projects together with communities is a priority.

"I am grateful to the communities for constructive dialogue and fruitful cooperation," he concluded.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree on the establishment of five military administrations in the Dnipropetrovsk region and appointed their heads.
