Ukrainian air defenses neutralize 108 out of 160 Russian drones
Ukraine's air defense forces neutralized 108 out of 160 Russian drones between the evening of December 18 and the morning of December 19.
The Ukrainian Air Force announced this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.
From 18:30 on Thursday, December 18, Russia attacked Ukraine with 160 strike UAVs of the Shahed type, Gerbera drones, and other UAVs launched from the directions of Kursk, Oryol, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Bryansk, Millerovo (Russia), and Hvardiiske (temporarily occupied Crimea). About 90 of them were Shahed-type drones.
The aerial attack was repelled by aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, as well as mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
According to preliminary data, by 08:00 on Friday, December 19, air defenses had shot down or suppressed 108 enemy drones in southern and eastern Ukraine.
Direct hits by 47 strike UAVs were recorded at 23 locations.
The attack is ongoing, with several enemy drones still in Ukrainian airspace, the Air Force said.
