Dnipro and New York have signed an official cooperation agreement. The mayor of Dnipro called the event a "true miracle."

Dnipro Mayor Borys Filatov announced this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

"A true miracle has happened today. We managed to conclude an official agreement with New York! And I sincerely believe that for our frontline city this is truly a landmark event. One of those that just a few years ago would have been impossible even to dream of. A huge American city whose power is quite capable of competing with the economies of even individual countries. So imagining that New York and Dnipro would have something in common used to be, to put it mildly, pure fantasy. And now it has become reality," he wrote.

The friendly cooperation agreement between the cities was signed by the mayor of Dnipro and New York City Mayor Eric Adams at the historic New York City Hall building. As Filatov promised, full details will be provided later.

He also recalled that in the summer of 2022 an agreement was signed with the Japanese city of Osaka. Before the full-scale invasion, technical meetings, negotiations, and attempts to reach an agreement on this issue lasted for five years.

According to Filatov, during the full-scale war, assistance to Dnipro from the Japanese people and government has amounted to tens of millions of dollars.

As Ukrinform reported, Dnipro and three other cities received municipal equipment from Japan.
