Russian forces are blocked in north of Kupiansk – Tregubov

Exclusive

Russian units operating in the Kharkiv region, in the north part of Kupiansk and its outskirts, are blocked and cannot receive reinforcements or full logistical support.

This was stated in an exclusive comment to a Ukrinform correspondent by Viktor Tregubov, Head of the Communications Department of the Joint Forces Task Force.

“I have actually been saying for more than one day now that Russian troops are blocked in the northern part of the city [Kupiansk]. Here, however, it is more about the city's outskirts than the city itself. Yes, undoubtedly, at present, Russian troops in the city cannot receive reinforcements,” he said.

Tregubov clarified that the number of active Russian servicemen in this area is limited.

“Essentially, there are up to about 40 active call signs there, and if we are talking not about call signs but about actual personnel, then, according to our intelligence, there are more than 100 service members. However, they are unable to conduct any active operations there,” he explained.

Also, responding to a question from the correspondent, Tregubov confirmed that Russian units are effectively cut off from supply.

“Yes, Russian troops are currently present directly in the northern districts of the city, but they cannot receive either reinforcements or even supplies, except perhaps via air drops from UAVs,” he concluded.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, units of the Khartia Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine liberated Kindrashivka, Radkivka, and several residential blocks in the northern part of Kupiansk, which made it possible to cut off supply routes for Russian forces and significantly stabilize the situation on the Kupiansk sector.
