Defense Forces refute enemy's claims of capturing Novodanylivka in Zaporizhzhia region

Information about the alleged capture of Novodanylivka in the Zaporizhzhia region by Russian forces does not correspond to reality.

The Operational Task Force South reported this on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.

The military released a video showing two Russian soldiers voluntarily surrendering to Ukrainian defenders near Novodanylivka in the Zaporizhzhia region.

In addition, as noted by the Defense Forces of the South, 12 Russian servicemen surrendered in their area of responsibility in just one day.

"The occupiers have a very low morale caused by inhumane treatment, horrific conditions, and irresponsible decisions by their command, which sends their soldiers as cannon fodder. They refuse to die for nothing and therefore make the only correct decision," the statement reads.

Ukrainian troops ensured escort and safety for the prisoners so that "their own people would not eliminate them along the way."

As Ukrinform reported, soldiers of the 38th Separate Marine Brigade named after Hetman Petro Sahaidachnyi of the Ukrainian Navy captured several groups of Russian troops during an attempted breakthrough toward Myrnohrad in the Donetsk region.
