General Staff: Bild report on complete capture of Pokrovsk by Russians false
Ukrainian defense forces continue their defensive operation in Pokrovsk. Information published by the German newspaper Bild about the complete capture of the city by Russian troops and the “end of the battle” is not true.
This was reported to Ukrinform by the Main Communications Directorate of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"The position of the Ukrainian command remains unchanged. The situation in Pokrovsk is extremely difficult. However, the Defense Forces continue to hold the northern part of the city along the railway line. Our units are also actively engaged in eliminating enemy pockets. Both in the Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad areas, measures are being taken to improve logistics, and attempts by the enemy to accumulate assault infantry groups and advance around populated areas are being blocked," said Dmytro Lykhoviy, an officer of the Main Communications Directorate and spokesman for the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
As reported by Ukrinform, 201 combat clashes between the Ukrainian Defense Forces and Russian invaders were recorded on the front line over the past day, December 2. Ukrainian defenders are organizing additional logistics routes to Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad to ensure uninterrupted supply of the Defense Forces units.
